Flavorpak – Issue No. 1 (PDF Download)
Flavorpak began as a zine we created to represent the unique creative culture that was being expressed in Kansas City back in 1992-1993. Our collective was made up of Visual artists, musicians, Djs, writers, photographers, poets, dancers, Graffiti writers, film & video artists, Emcees, singers, designers, illustrators and others… This first issue dropped in 1993 with the funds we collected at our first Warehouse party in downtown KCMO.
This 40 page Zine is a collection of Art / comics / commentary / photography / and is a response to the issues and environment in which we were all living in at that time. This was our outlet. Looking at this just a little more than 30 years later is amazing yet jarring.
As a society we are still dealing with most of these issues that were expressed by our younger creative selves.
All of us involved over the years with Flavorpak are still creating to this day. The seeds we planted back then are growing still…!
PDF version of the original Flavorpak issue number one. Includes all 40 pages from the original pressing. Featuring works from Jeremy McConnell, David Rogers, Gear, Randal Knaff, Mike Martin, Greg Knoll, Scribe, Jeff Stevens, Davin Watne, Mike Huddleston, Jean Claude Bienaime II, Leo Esquivel, Jason Sonderman, Brady Vest, Steve Willaredt and Greg King.
